In micro channel epitaxy (MCE) it is sometimes observed a "lift up" phenomenon of the laterally grown layer, which grows gradually separate from the substrate. The "lift up" phenomenon is inconvenient for the device use of the layer because it makes the layer unstable and fragile. We examined the cause of the "lift up" phenomenon by changing the formation process of the SiO_2 mask used for MCE.
