  This article discusses our progress in the formation of organic microcrystals and their optical applications. In the section of precise synthesis of skeletal crystals, we introduce the formation of microcrystals with uniform size, shape, and orientation by controlling the formation process. Regarding dendron-modified π-conjugated molecules, we show the formation of porous crystals from dendrimers, which are typically prone to amorphous aggregation. The gas adsorption properties and sensing via changes in luminescence color, and the ultrafast release of stored water molecules are discussed that take advantage of the porous crystals. We also discuss the development of laser properties, multicolor luminescence, and mechanical deformation sensing using π-conjugated molecular microcrystals as optical resonators. This research will contribute to the advancement and application of organic crystal formation technology.
