The cigarette beetle, Lasioderma serricorne (Fabricius), is an important pest insect, that feeds on various dry foods, including wheat, forage crops, snacks, dried noodles, and chili. In this study, we investigated the difference in their attraction to direct and reflected lights in a chamber. Reflected lights are attractive to insects, but direct lights do not attract them, which is a new finding.
