The purpose of this paper is to clarify the objectives for healthy life education, to present three viewpoints for determining the contents and to propose a method for implementation on each of these viewpoints. The first step is in setting new contents for home economics education from the viewpoint of health. The three viewpoints are as follows : 1. the objectives for healthy life education should be clarified. 2. the relationships between students and their environment should be considered, and they should be able to understand their health condition. 3. the ability to maintain a healthy life throughout their life must be attained. The methods for each of the above viewpoints are : to analyze objectives on the basis of the "Taxonomy of Educational Objectives"; to make a health check-list to enable students to determine their health condition; and to set up a "Healthy Life Process", that is, to have students apply health routine to their daily living.
