Abstract
While the reorganization of the subject is the talk of educators, the author 785 teachers in elementary school on views and reratities of home economics education during June to September 1996. The results were as follows. 1. Both home economics major and non-major teachers put values on educational meaning. Only few opinion with unnecessity of the subuject under school days system, were existed. And both teachers taught in connections with other unnecessity of the subuject under 5 school days system, were existed. And both teachers taught in connections with other subjects, and urged various contents, such as Environmental Education, Consumer Education, and Family Relation Education in coming contents. 2. There was a wide gap between the major and non-major in teaching contents and methods. In future, teachers should have study groups, and practice variety of contents in connection with other subjects.
