Children’s poverty has become a serious social problem. The objective of this research is to obtain suggestions on the contents of home economics courses and Points to keep in mind when practicing lessons that will foster children’s power to live against this poverty. As a method, a questionnaire survey of high school home economics teachers were conducted. As a result, classes were created for home economics teaching on the subjects of “Independent living power (especially self-catering ability),” “Power needed to live in society (basic lifestyle, motivation, basic academic ability/knowledge, information gathering, autonomy, communication skills, etc.),” and “Knowledge and skills such as household management and disadvantage avoidance, ” “Lifelong design: combining the social security system with the occupational system,” were also suggested.
