In this paper, we develop a brokerage-type organizational intelligence model ( BOIM ) for analyzing characteristics and effectiveness of a brokerage-type interorganizational structure.
First, observing an initiative of broker, we select a typical company as a case of the brokerage-type inter-organizational structure, employing our alternative retailer broker maker(ARBM) model. Second, focusing a decision making and information flow in the case, we develop a brokerage-type organizational intelligence model ( BOIM ) and a traditional wholesale-type organizational intelligence model (WOIM ), employing our organizational intelligence model ( OIM ). Finally, we contrast the brokerage-type organizational intelligence model with the traditional wholesale-type organizational intelligence model, and confirm a sort of generality of the BOIM, observing cases except the former one.
As a result, the brokerage-type inter-organizational structure reveals the characteristics such as an adoption of enrollment system for ordering, a parallel access of firms for filling an order, and a standardization of merchandise and transactions. Moreover the structure realizes effectiveness with respect to an increase in a competence of planning and development, a promotion of coordinated transaction, and a lowering price by a bidding system and the standardization.
In conclusion, the brokerage-type organizational intelligence model( BOIM ) would be an effective model in discussing the characteristics and effectiveness of brokerage-type inter- organizational structure.
