Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy in reducing aggressive behavior DV and IPV using a meta-analysis of studies comparing the effectiveness of the program with previously implemented psychological intervention programs. The articles were searched using PsycINFO. PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science for relevance (as of March 2023). Results of the meta-analysis indicated that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy reduced the number of relapses among DV and IPV perpetrators compared with previously implemented psychological intervention programs. Future issues include increasing the effectiveness of reducing dropout rates and accumulating high-quality studies compared with those that are small and less effective.
