Abstract
Some properties of visual perception are compared with the mechanical sensors, and a brief discussion is made with particular emphasis on their selecting filtering, patterning, and compensating character. It is suggested that more considerations shonld be given to the design of visual displays, especially to the combination and integration of them, to make best use of these properties and of the information levels.
