Abstract

This study examined the effects of English lessons’ reading-aloud practices for elementary 6th graders. To become able to read target sentences fluently, children were allowed to choose their learning strategies freely. Collected data revealed that most children chose learning strategies appropriate for their learning preferences. As a result, they significantly improved their reading-aloud skills.
