Abstract

Above all, orthodontic anchor screw can be implanted by orthodontist in various sites of alveolar bone in the upper and lower jaws. Surgical procedures are relatively simple, and also minor post-operative pain is reported. In this paper, the history of regulatory approval of orthodontic anchor screw, clinical application so far and the latest research about the optimal length of the anchor screw that takes into account the safety and stability, are described.
