The mountains of Shikoku have never been studied ornithologically. Duringtwo weeks study in Ishizuehi Mt. (1981m.) and Tsurugi Mt. (1955m.) in earlySummer, 1943, the author observed Nicifraga. Parus atrieapillus, Acanthopneustetenellipes and 16 other species as breeders, all for the first time from Shikoku.Altogether 52 species were observed and collected durng this trip.
