A patient, a 69-year-old male, with malignant thymoma metastasing to maxillary gingiva and the other sites was reported.He visited our hospital because he noticed gingival tumor of the upper jaw (3-4). He had no symptoms to complain except gingival tumor and slight palpitation. A large tumor shadow was found in the mediastinum by roentgenological examination.During investigation of the relation between gingival tumor and mediastinal tumor, anemia, leukocytes increase and fatigue appeared.Then he was extremely weakned and died of gastric ulcer bleeding.The autopsy found that a mediastinal tumor was thymoma and had metastated to the bilateral suprarene, left kidney and prostate as well as gingiva. Distant metastasis and immunological disorder of thymoma are reviewed.
