We recently experienced a case of calcifying epithelioma arising in the right cheek region of a 4-year old male. The tumor was noticed as a painless well-defined and movable mass, and was excised under general anesthesia.
Histologically, it was composed of nests or masses of shadow cells that have a distinct border and posses a central unstained area as result of a nuclear loss. Calcification was present in the shadow cells and stroma.
The prognose of this case is favorable with no sign of recurrence.
