Abstract
It is not easy in a university lecture to outline the history of the illegalization of war, while at the same time ensuring that students fully understand it. This paper discusses methods on how to promote an understanding of the pacifist ideal in the Constitution of Japan. As part of such efforts, we have developed a website that allows students conveniently learn==anytime and anywhere==about topics like this, topics that are difficult fully understand solely by means of standard lectures. This website has been designed to be used on tablet computers and smartphones. The use of smartphones has enabled students to engage in self these topics by utilizing their small pockets of time.
