The use of educational robots for introducing medical data science into the health sciences at universities

Abstract

A course called “Introduction to Medical Data Science I” introduced health science students to a basic level of applied mathematics, data science, and AI education. The class design and the learning materials were based on the utilization of an educational robot. This robot encouraged students seeking to become pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to develop a greater interest in AI and programming. A learning platform, “Medical Data Science Learning Site,” that included programming exercises from Google Colaboratory, allowed students to apply basic skills systematically while using the robot.
