Compartment syndrome of the extremities is an emergency condition whereby increased compartment pressure obstructs blood flow. The ischemia can develop muscle necrosis, neuropathy, loss of limb, and even loss of life. Well-known triggers of this disease are fracture or damage of the soft tissue; however, some cases occur without injury. If acute compartment syndrome is suspected, surgical treatment can be effective to release the compartment from irreversible ischemia.
This article reports a rare case of compartment syndrome that was caused by commuting and occurred on the bilateral leg.
