For the purpose of reinforcement to the castable ceramics (OCC), fusing of ceramics to the sintered zirconium body was examined.
The state of bonding for each specimen was observed with the unaided eye and the bond strength was measured by push-out test.
As a result, crack development of OCC was caused by the difference of the thermal expansion coefficient of sintered zirconium bodies and the recrystallization of OCC. When porcelain was coated to the sintered zirconium body before busing of ceramics to it, the bonding strength was increasing, but the diffusion of specified elements were not found around the bonding interface of the sintered zirconium body.
