Fibrous dysplasia, a benign localized bone disorder sometimes involving craniofacial bone lesions, may invade the skull base, orbital nerves, and facial bones reducing central nervous system function, visual performance and olfactory sensibility. While surgery is the only cure, procedures must be undertaken extremely carefully because lesion sites are high in the variety and severity of complications. We report the case of a 37-year-old woman with fibrous dysplasia of the ethmoid sinus involving the skull base. We resected the tumor using transbasal removal and endoscopic sinus surgery without complications such as hyposmia and change of facial appearance.
