Abstract
A 66-year-old woman was admitted due to the increase in size of an abnormal shadow in the right middle lung field on chest X-ray ; the abnormal shadow had been followed for nine years. We performed a video-assisted thoracoscopic middle-lobe lobectomy of the right lung. The tumor was diagnosed on histology as a pulmonary epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (PEH). PEH is a rare tumor of the lung. It is a low-grade malignant tumor that originates from hemangioendothelial cells. The patient has been followed for 1 year since the operation and remains asymptomatic ; no CT changes have been noted.
