Abstract
The patient was a 54-year-old man. He was admitted to our hospital because of appetite loss and jaundice. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a tumor in the uncinate process of the pancreas and obstruction of the duodenum in the inferior duodenal angle due to volvulus. The transverse portion of the duodenum was not recognized and the entire small intestine was present in the right ascending colon which deviated to the left side of the abdominal cavity. Pancreaticoduodenectomy with tract reconstruction by the Child method was performed. Fixation of the intestines was not performed. Postoperative oral intake was good and he was discharged from the hospital on the 14th postoperative day.
