Abstract
We report a case of cervical thymoma mimicking thyroid squamous cell carcinoma. The patient was a 74-year-old woman, who visited our hospital for an anterior neck mass. Computed tomography revealed a mass in the left lobe of the thyroid gland, and fine-needle aspiration biopsy showed a squamous cell carcinoma, so it was diagnosed as a thyroid carcinoma. The tumor was resected, and the histopathological diagnosis was cervical thymoma. Postoperative radiation was performed. Otolaryngologists should keep cervical thymoma in mind when examining patients with a tumor in the neck.
