Abstract

A phenomenon of brown or reddish-brown color seen in fresh water lakes is called freshwater red tide, which is used for a similar phenomenon in marine waters. It occurs in origotrophic or mesotrophic lakes by the dinoflagellate Peridinia. The present situation for the problem of freshwater red tide has not yet been resolved. In this paper, we have studied on the environmental conditions and the freshwater red tide in a man-made lake, and analized the various data about water quality by a method of multi-valiate statistical analysis.
