Abstract
We analyzed collaborative research contract information of 2004-2013 financial years, in order to clarify the situation of University-Industry research collaborations and the geographical distribution of the partners in Shimane University.
We obtained following results.
1)In case of partners of large enterprises, the partners who are located in Kanto, Kinki, Tokai and Chugoku area occupy 94%.
2)In case of partners of small and medium-sized enterprises, the partners who are located in Shimane prefecture, Kanto, Chugoku and Kinki area occupy 94%.
3)After 2009FY, the cooperative researches with companies who are located in Kanto, Tokai, Kinki and Chugoku area are increasing. The cooperative researches with companies who are located in Shimane prefecture are decreasing.
4) Most of the partners of the cooperative researches with non-companies organization are located in Shimane prefecture.
The tendency of decreasing of cooperative researches between Shimane University and companies in Shimane prefecture is thought a big problem for promoting of the local innovation. It is necessary to clarify and compare the situation of other areas, and to examine measures in future.
