University Management and Formation of Regional Innovation Ecosystem

Abstract

Whether a regional university can survive as a local base of a region will be due to whether it can become a contributor to the formation of the regional innovation ecosystem. The concepts of university management to contribute to formation of regional innovation ecosystem by regional universities are described, especially from the viewpoint of industry-university collaboration. Also the university reforms in Shizuoka University and the new activities called ACTPHAST promoted in Hamamatsu area are explained.
