Society Cooperation of Universities in Local and Effectiveness on University Management

Abstract

Some examples that the economic situation in region became better are recently observed according to my field work experiences over 10 years in Mie prefecture. Though the southern part of Mie declined until the extinction of the local government was felt uneasy, the leapfrogging came to be observed when the difference with the city arrived at the maximum. National universities in local should fulfill a higher role to find local companies having high growth potential and to change an economic situation by supporting them. In this paper, the possibility of collaboration between society and university in region was considered, and the effectiveness of cooperation with the society to university management was also considered.
