Industrial Promotion and Employment Creation Plan for Young People through the Creation and Application of Next-generation “Light” Initiatives for Local University and Regional Industry Creation Projects in Tokushima Prefecture

Abstract

With the adoption of the "Grant for Creation of Local Universities and Regional Industries" by the Cabinet Office, Tokushima Prefecture has been working on "fostering human resources specializing in optical applications" and "research and development of next-generation "light" sources and applied products" through cooperation and collaboration among industry, academia, government, and bank, with "light" as the core of the prefecture's strength.

This paper outlines the circumstances surrounding Tokushima Prefecture and Tokushima University, the background to the selection of next-generation "light," the formulation of the concept of a "creative super-aging society," and the various efforts that have been made since the project was adopted.
