At the 23rd Annual Conference held in Hakodate in June 2025, we organized a special session aimed at reforming the submission and peer-review system for our journal. This paper discusses the challenges facing the journal that served as the backdrop for planning this special session, an overview of the organizational reforms implemented under the 12th term of J-SIP, and our expectations for the “Systematization of Industry-Academia Collaboration Studies” through future journal editing.
Knowledge becomes reliable only when put into practice. However, practice alone is insufficient; it becomes science only when it is published as research, exposed to a wide audience of practitioners, and debated. We hope to create a positive cycle in which various challenging activities and research findings are published in the journal, leading to extensive discussion and research; through a process of trial and error, the practical activities underpinned by these findings will be further enhanced.
