Abstract
Rapid growth of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has led to big change of the structure of social systems and industrial structures. The conventional technology oriented R&D (Research and Development) no longer makes source of innovations and a new approach, called society oriented R&D, has to be established. In this paper, trials of society oriented R&D under collaborations of industries, academia, and local governments in Fukuoka area are presented.
