This study aims to clarify the effects of colour of light on the visual texture of wood materials and the impression of a room. We examine the relationship between the visual texture and the impression of the room. Before the experiment, we made a scale model of a living room and conducted a subjective experiment. 36 kinds of lighting conditions using a LED lighting source was equipped on the top of the scale space. Participants observed the space and rated the naturalness of the colour appearance, the visual texture of the wood materials and the preference of the lighting. They also evaluated the impression of the room. According to the results, the lighting in 3300K, 4000K and duv = -0.005 - +0.005 is more natural and preferred for wood materials. In addition, the preferred wood materials lead to the familiarity of a room.
