This paper aims to clarify Kansei of the child on the historical environment in the city, analyzing the ‘Icon’ (pictogram) designed by the children. The historical environment for the children is not only in the traditional object, but also the atmosphere without borders. Therefore, the icons of the historical environment made by children represent the various characteristics of time in the city: measurable time of the historical building, durable time in the natural environment of the city, and the discontinuation of time in a construction site. An icon has a universal meaning as sign. However, the icons designed by the children include not only individual Kansei but also time of place where an individual existence inevitably attaches.
