In ultrasound diagnosis in the medical field, various Phase Coherence Imaging (PCI) approaches have been proposed based on the synthetic aperture focusing technique, which can suppress noise and improve spatial resolution by a factor based on the coherence of the delay-corrected received waveform. In ultrasonic testing, the application of PCI to full matrix capture with the total focusing method and Plane Wave Imaging (PWI) is becoming popular in Europe and the United States. This paper discusses the effect of introducing a fixed aperture angle to correct the differences in the coherence factor, the phase coherence factor, and the sign coherence factor due to the propagation distance of the reflected wave in PCI using weighting factors for PWI images.
