In this paper, the operating domain of a force-reflecting hydraulic servomotor is discussed. The operating domain is expressed by the followable frequencies which are satisfied for various condition. As the behavior of the apparatus is expressed by non-linear differential equation, the exact analysis can not be expected. Therefore, an approximating method is employed. Namely, the transfer function of the system is approximated as follow:G(s)=(T2s+1)/(T1s+1), where T1 and T2 are equivalent time constants (T1>T2). Then the no load characteristic is investigated by using frequency response method, and by introducing the concept of the operating domain, the usable limitation of frequencies when loaded which assures the practically applicable response can be estimated from the no load characteristic. The experimental result shows that the researching method is reasonable.
