Abstract
YBa2Cu3Ox superconducting fibers were fablicated from a solution of Y.Ba alkoxides and Cu acetate through sol·gel method. Homogeneous viscous sol was prepared by hydrolysis of the solution under acidic condition and holding 60-80°C. Gel fibers of 10μ-1mm in diameter and more than 5m in legth could be draw from the sol. Dense ceramic fibers were obtained by heating the gel fibers to 400°C at a slow rate of 10°C/h and sintering at 950°C. These fibers showed the diamagnetism below 95K.
