A male infant developed abdominal distension one month after radical operation for gastroschisis. Peritoneal centesis revealed lymphatic ascites containing no chylomicron. Total parenteral nutrition was given for 6 weeks without significant decrease in ascites. On the 107th and 114th day of admission, bleomycin emulsion of 2 mg and 1. 5 mg was administered intraperitoneally. After one week of bleomycin injection, ascites decreased rapidly, which was clearly demonstrated by ultrasonography. This is the first report of lymphoperitoneum or chyloperitoneum cured by bleomycin emulsion. Post- operative lymphoperitoneum associated with gastroschisis has not been also reported yet.
