Abstract

We retrospectively reviewed the surgical outcomes of extravesical common sheath reimplantation for severe VUR associated with duplex collecting systems in children. Three children with duplex systems (right in one, left in two) underwent unilateral common sheath reimplantations between 2010 and 2014. Preoperative reflux was graded four and five in two complete duplex collecting systems and graded three in one incomplete duplex collecting systems. Surgical procedure included a small skin incision one fingerbreadth above the pubic symphysis and unilateral ureteral reimplantation with the common sheath extravesically. No perioperative complication was observed. All patients were discharged two days after surgery. No patient had febrile UTI and hydronephrosis postoperatively.
