This paper aims to clarify the relationships between redundnacy analysis (RDA) and canonical regression analysis (CRA). Focusing on the comparison in terms of goodness of fit, RDA is found to be more advantageous than CRA. Bounds of redundancy indexes are evaluated and numerical examples are provided for illustration.
