A new species of the staphylinid genus Philydrodes is described under the name of P. (P.) sanukiensis. It is obtained from under wet dead leaves accumulated at the streamside on Mt. Otaki-san and its adjacent area of Kagawa Prefecture in eastern Shikoku, Japan.
