Based on the rearings in Nakagawa, Tochigi Prefecture, central Honshu, in 2009 to 2010, host plants are recorded for two species of the sawfly genus Conaspidia KONOW, 1898 (Hymenoptera, Tenthredinidae), Aralia elata (MIQ.) SEEM. (Araliaceae) for C. singularis (MALAISE, 1931) and A. cordata THUNB. (Araliaceae) for C. hyalina SATO, 1933. The two Conaspidia species probably have two generations a year in Nakagawa and the larvae are monophagous and solitary. The last instar larvae of the two species can be distinguished by the number of the black spots on the trunk.
