The Standard Statistical Classifications for Statistical Survey and Tabulation of the Official Statistics

Abstract

The individuals, enterprises and governments are involved with each other in the society directly as well as indirectly, and are also making their decisions on the daily basis. However, the appropriate decision-making needs to grasp the situation based on the correct information. The government produces and disseminates the official statistics which are important source for the rational decision-making for us. The standard statistical classifications, including Japan Standard Industrial Classification (JSIC), are established to enhance the comparability between the different official statistics and to improve the utilization of those statistics.
