Abstract

Teaching with the use of ICT is underway in the classroom at a notable speed in step with the advancement of the technology. The issue of “information literacy” tends to focus on how to use the computer and the Internet. As a matter of course, however, the “information” we receive does not come from the Internet alone. The mission of the school library in this unpredictable sophisticated information society is to cultivate experts who acquire enough “information literacy” to access all kinds of information, including printed information, and then sort out properly and build on the contents by themselves. This report highlights an example of information literacy education being implemented in junior and senior high school with an emphasis on the process of thinking.
