This paper focuses on the effectiveness of telework during a time of emergency, and presents a general outline to introduce telework, as a business continuity planning (BCP). Prior to the Covid-19 crisis, limited scale at which telework was introduced and implemented meant it fell considerably short of key performance indicators (KPI) set by the government. However, rapid introduction and widespread integration has ensued as a consequence of the spread of Covid-19. This paper points out that we need the environmental improvements of both information and communications technology (ICT) and non-ICT for implementing telework. From now on, we should share each other the information on costs, benefits, challenges, and solutions to learn and move toward a culture of ongoing improvement and innovation.
