Since the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, many digital archives of natural disasters have been constructed to keep disaster records. To make use of the millions of disaster records such as testimonies, administrative texts, photos, and movies for future disaster prevention and mitigation, it is essential to know what precisely these disaster records are. This paper describes how to use the disaster records what has to be kept in mind concerning the millions of disaster records published in Disaster Digital Archives. Furthermore, centering on digital archives that focus on records of the Great East Japan Earthquake, various recent natural disaster digital archives will be introduced with an outline on how to use them.
