Search for biomedical and life sciences literature - PubMed

Abstract

As of the end of 2021, PubMed contains more than 33 million medical articles, many of which are written in English, and searching for medical articles in PubMed means searching almost for English articles. There is also a Metathesaurus for mapping synonyms and related words to the appropriate MeSH, and Best Match system that allows the end user to search using any free term that comes to mind and still gets the appropriate results. MedlinePlus, an information research site for the general public, is also available, and aims to provide a medical literature search system that can be used by anyone.
