Finding drug and medical information

Abstract

This paper describes the characteristics of basic information materials that can be used for search, focusing on pharmaceutical products, from the perspective of health literacy. Therefore, the content is mainly targeted at people who are engaged in information services other than medical personnel. First, I organized the situations where drug information is needed, and stated that there are two types of information: one for proper use of drugs and the other for knowing the appropriateness of drugs used for treatment. Next, I classified the factors that greatly affect the reliability of information by the organization that provides them, and summarized the characteristics of specific information materials. Finally, I described the role of information literacy, the reliability of information, and the role of InfoPro when searching for information on using the Internet.
