Abstract

Both university hospital and school of medicine were significantly affected by coronavirus pandemic. A little boost in digitalization occurred, but not enough. Delays in the introduction of telehealth system were exposed in Japan, however, legislation has been developed finally. The DX in research environment, except for online conferences, has not progressed. In medical education, public support (Plus DX) led to the development of new educational methods such as hybrid lecture rooms and the use of VR and the metaverse. In the future, medical education needs to promote DX, streamline the acquisition of ever-increasing medical-related knowledge, and re-recognize and practice the value of clinical education based on direct dialogue.
