This study is an attempt to develop their abilities using a piece of Japanese animation; and then, try to analyze intermediate learners' use of variations by examining original scenarios written by the students in terms of gender, generation and also politeness level. The research introduced not only appropriate use, but also some inappropriate use of variations, which indicate what difficulties the informants may have.
