With the globalization of higher education, short-term study abroad programs have increased as an opportunity for students to explore languages and cultures. This paper examines 1) the implementation of short-term programs that combine language and culture components and 2) the trial-and-error process of developing teaching materials that foster experiential-based, output-oriented activities, including online-based activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
