The purpose of this study was to investigate changes in the attitudes of Taiwanese university students who had experienced hotel and restaurant internship in Japan regarding Japanese language study. As a result, interest in Japan and the consciousness to continuously learn and utilize Japanese language increased. Students attached importance to abilities related to foreign languages other than Japanese and abilities other than those of foreign languages. It may have encouraged confidence in cross-cultural adaptation. On the other hand, half of the students indicated that they did not feel the need to learn a foreign language in the classroom. Therefore, it is considered necessary to adjust the method of teaching Japanese to students who have practical experience.
