This study reports on The Nagoya University Short-Term Japanese Language Program (NUSTEP) conducted in February 2021. NUSTEP (held online over a two-week period due to COVID-19) included cultural experiences and lectures on Japanese language and society. Despite the program being fully online, it received a high evaluation from participating students for using simultaneous interactive lecture and experience-based learning. Valuable insights and suggestions were obtained for achieving successful experience-based online learning in the future.
